Accept the work without making pain the goal
Ambitious outcomes demand effort, but past sacrifice does not justify a bad next decision.
Building a large company can compress years of learning, responsibility, and effort into a short period. The personal cost can be substantial. Decide whether you want the work itself, not only the imagined reward.
Most business progress does not look like a dramatic success story. It consists of repeated effort, customer contact, difficult decisions, and improvements that attract little attention. Concentrate on these actions because they are the part you can influence.
Do not continue only because you have already sacrificed a great deal. The relevant question is whether the next effort can create a worthwhile result. Commitment to entrepreneurship does not require permanent commitment to one failed approach.
