Separate opportunity from personal ruin
Take risks that leave you able to build again.
The same business experiment has different consequences for different people. Dependents, savings, obligations, and alternative income change the downside. Assess your own position. Do not borrow someone else’s story about courage.
Some early tests are cheap and reversible. A conversation, a prototype, or a small sale can reduce uncertainty before you make a larger commitment. Use that sequence when the business permits it. Research, physical production, and regulated services can require different tests.
A bold business choice does not require careless personal exposure. Preserve enough capacity to recover from failure. The purpose of taking a risk is to create a useful possibility. It is not to prove that you can suffer.
