Start with a learning phase
A young company must discover before it can standardize.
A startup is not simply a small mature company. It may still be searching for its customer, product, and operating model. Processes that protect an established business can slow that search. Give early work enough room to explore.
That freedom changes as consequences grow. Employees, customers, investors, and partners begin to depend on the company. Greater impact requires clearer responsibility and more reliable operations. Maturity should respond to real needs rather than to appearances.
