Make referrals worthwhile
A referral should create value for the person who shares and the person who joins.
A strong relationship gives customers a reason to recommend the product. Make sharing simple. If a reward fits the business, make its value understandable to both sides. Avoid a reward that attracts activity without useful demand.
Observe what happens after the invitation. Do the new users reach the intended result? Do they continue? A referral program that fills the product with indifferent users can create a misleading number. Measure the relationship with value, not only the invitation count.
