Find the mechanism that produces growth
Growth becomes useful when you understand what produces it and what it costs.
A good product still needs a route to the people who need it. Customers do not automatically recommend every product they enjoy. A recommendation does not automatically produce use. Growth therefore requires deliberate work.
The first route may depend heavily on the founder. That effort helps you learn what attracts customers and what helps them succeed. As the method reaches its limit, the company needs processes and distribution that can repeat it.
The purpose is to multiply a working relationship between the product and its customers. More activity can expose a weak product faster without repairing it. Keep the customer’s continuing value inside the growth discussion.
Growth can provide resources, new responsibilities, and opportunities for the team. It can also consume cash and overload delivery. Judge the whole effect rather than the attractiveness of a rising headline number.
