Design for emotion as well as function
People experience a product through meaning, feeling, and use.
A technically capable tool can still feel cold, confusing, or exhausting. Useful design considers the human experience around the task. Warmth, play, beauty, and personal expression can matter. They are not automatically distractions from function.
A small daily use can introduce a much broader product. Make that use valuable before you ask for a larger place in the customer’s life. The first feature should earn attention through service. A large vision does not excuse a weak first experience.
Do not dismiss an aesthetic because you have stereotypes about its audience. Personalization can help people feel ownership of their environment. A familiar character can make an interaction easier to understand. Test whether those choices improve the experience for the actual user.
