Accept that a clear choice can divide opinion
A company needs a coherent direction more than universal approval.
Some people will dislike what you build. A clear product or mission can serve one group well and leave another group uninterested. Trying to satisfy every reaction can destroy the choice that made the company useful.
Distinguish opposition from evidence of error. A strong reaction can show that the choice matters. It cannot establish that you are right. Examine the substance of the criticism.
The goal is a sound decision for which you accept responsibility. Explain why you believe it is right. Then act and remain willing to learn from the result.
Do not turn controversy into a substitute for value. Attention is not the same as impact. The customer experience remains the test.
