Read the actual culture
Culture appears in the people you hire, reward, promote, and trust.
Office design, benefits, and rituals can express culture. They cannot create it independently of behavior. A poster about cooperation has little force when rewards encourage people to undermine one another.
Look at what happens under pressure. Which standard survives when a major sale is at risk? What happens when a strong performer violates a stated principle? Who receives responsibility after a difficult period?
These decisions teach people what is real. A repeated contradiction between words and actions becomes the operating rule. The team will follow what the company rewards, even when the formal message says something else.
Consistency alone does not make a culture desirable. A company can be coherent around values that others reject. Clarity allows people to understand the choice before they commit to it.
