Keep pricing open to evidence
The first price is a hypothesis that experience can improve.
Begin with understandable assumptions about customer value, delivery cost, and the margin the business needs. Then test changes for a clear reason. Observe purchases, revenue, margin, continued use, and customer response. One favorable number should not hide deterioration elsewhere.
As the product improves, customers may receive greater value. As the market changes, a different segment may value it more. Revisit the offer and price together. Do not assume that the original customer mix must remain permanent.
Keep the relationship credible while you test. A pricing experiment is not permission to ignore promises or the customer’s experience. Explain changes where appropriate. Use the result to decide what the offer should become.
