Do not use cheapness to hide weak differentiation
A low price can win a transaction without creating a strong business.
Founders sometimes lower prices because they fear rejection. They assume that more people will buy and that growth will solve the economics. That assumption needs evidence. The company must still fund delivery, service, and improvement.
A price change can reveal why customers stay. They may value a result that alternatives do not provide. They may also stay mainly because the product is inexpensive. Investigate the response instead of assuming you already know.
I prefer to build around the ability to earn more rather than permanent pressure to spend less. That preference depends on the opportunity and model. A thin-margin business needs particularly strong cost discipline. A crisis can require strict spending control even in a high-margin company.
